This year I am opting to become more communicative. This started as journal entries, which quickly needed the update outlet. I think the Facebook notes and Blogger might be a good way to do this. My notes will act as 'Life Updates' and thus, I can spread news of actions and ideas.
The first update is that Jamie and I just got back from a cruise boat, which took us across the Gulf of Mexico to the cities of Progreso and Cozumel, in Mexico. In Progreso, we went on a tour of an early Mayan settlement. We also got to see the city of Progreso, and some Yucatan Peninsula countryside on our bus trip to the settlement. In Cozumel, we ate, drank, and shopped with our friends Mike, Liz, Adri and Robbie. On the ship, there was also plenty of eating, drinking, games, and comedy/dance/magic shows. I would say fun! but no place for a kid, at least on Carnival. I think the Disney corporation has a child appropriate cruise. Ours was more like Vegas! I am slightly embarrassed to admit that this trip was the furthest from the United States that I have ever been (http://www.mapcrow.info/Distance_between_Houston_US_and_Cozumel_MX.html). It has also been a great introduction to travelling as a clearly labelled tourist. Needless to say, I loved it! And, I'm hoping to plan dozens more international trips.
The next update involves Jamie's new job: Store Manager at Which Wich deli on Lemmon Ave. She just started this week, so her ultimate position (geographical and psychological) hasn't been experienced yet. Things are looking up stresswise and her perceived value is also up. I'm excited for her!
